General Requirements

Registration Form & Fee

Complete registration and pay the required fee

Enrollment Agreement

Acknowledge and sign the enrollment agreement

Age Requirement

Must be at least 18 years old (16 for CNA)

  • Most Programs: 18 years old at program start
  • Nurse Assistant Program: 16 years old at program start
Proof of age will be verified with your government-issued ID.:

English Proficiency

Must speak, write, and understand English

Required
  • Speaking ability for verbal communication
  • Writing skills for documentation
  • Reading comprehension for course materials
  • Listening comprehension for lectures and instructions

Social Security Number or TIN

Possess or be obtaining SSN/TIN at enrollment

You must have a Social Security Number (SSN) or Tax Identification Number (TIN), or be in the process of obtaining one at the time of enrollment.:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Proof of 12th grade education completion

Required
  • High School Diploma from an accredited school
  • General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Foreign diploma or transcript evaluated for US 12th grade equivalency
Foreign Graduates: Must have diploma or transcript evaluated for 12th grade equivalency in the US by an approved credential evaluation service.

Essential Academic Skills Test

If HS Diploma or GED not available

Conditional
  • Pass a validated and standardized screening test
  • Test covers: Mathematics, Science, and English
  • Demonstrates Essential Academic Skills

Proof of Good Health

Required for programs with clinical rotations

Conditional
  • Physical examination by licensed physician
  • Immunization records (as required by facility)
  • TB test or chest X-ray results
  • Any additional health screenings required
Important: Must be completed before starting clinical rotations. Forms will be provided by the school.

Criminal Background Check

No convictions under specific Penal Code sections

Required
Disqualifying Convictions: Applicants must not have been convicted of any offenses listed in the specific sections of the Penal Code (see Appendix A of the School Catalog).
